The best part of a trip (or is it?)

We always say that the best part of a trip is when you start planning it.
It certainly gives you the motivation you need to keep on counting the days and to fight the blues.
Truth is, for us it's probably even more than that, we love travelling, we met when we were touring Vietnam and Cambodia in 2007 and since then we've been to a few more places, Tasmania, New Zealand, China, Italy, Holland, Belgium, Laos, Queensland, Argentina, Antarctica, Uruguay and now if everything goes according to plan (and I really hope it will since we've made already the booking online and we cannot back off anymore), Nepal and Tibet, in a few words, The Himalayas!
Tibet has been my dream since, well... since I can remember! And Steve always wanted to do some trekking in the most beautiful mountain range of the world, and we thought that combining the 2 would have been a wining choice for both of us... so here we are, caught up in the frenzy of the preparation!
Two months from now we'll be boarding the plane to Bangkok and then proceed to Kathmandu!!!
We are really excited about it! We know we must do our homework and read all the books we can before we actually go there, since the situation over there is quite delicate and being found with books on the current political situation could lead to trouble for us and for our guide...
But a part from that we love the idea of visiting one of the world's oldest (if not the oldest) places, with its history, the culture, the people and yes, even the food, the colours, the roughness of its landscape, the magic of the highest peaks on earth, the cold and the mountain sickness too!
