First impression of Burma

Steve and I are having a wonderful time here in Burma. We've arrived Sunday morning with a surprisingly on time air Asia flight from Bangkok, we've spent the first day in Yangon visiting a stunning Shwedagon Paya at sunset and then we've taken the early morning flight to Bagan. Here in Bagan life is relaxed, there's hardly any traffic at all and I finally decided to end my 20 years ban on bikes. Yep, in 2 days, complete with high humidity and heat (but I like it cause it reminds me of my hometown in summer), we managed to drop our jaws in awe to at least two dozens temples. And Just when I thought we would have been templed out, we take the wrong turn and we end up in one of the most mysterious ones, the temple that saw a king chopping off the arms of the architects or because the brickwork wasn't tight enough! The bike riding from temple to temple has been tough but very rewarding with some amazing sights being permanently captured by camera. The food! We couldn't ask for better curries! They're not As spicy as Indian or Thai curries, they are simply delicious and I'm afraid now we must come to terms with a disturbing addiction to tamarind flakes!!! So sweet! Going to bed early now, tomorrow morning we'll try our luck in a hot air ballon Flight.
